Look pretty interesting so far. Now lets see how each episode stand on its own. I am sure this will be better than Dame Dashes attempt at an apprentice knock off.
Before the inevitable rise to straight to video movies with the ultimate Afro Black Belt Wesley Snipes and the here one minute gone the next appearances of Sanaa Lathan. We had a movie by the name of Disappearing Acts.
Real Love Real Life. Is the simplest way to put such a complex film in the market. With two individuals struggling to make the day and make the ends meet. Fall head over heals for one another with out the cheesy music and the often add comedic effects. This time around you get a real taste of what inner city love deals with and the complexities that come with it.
Sanaa Lathan and Wesley Snipes give 100% to this film and it shows in every scene. I say give the film another shot and let it breath. Perhaps you will be able to take something away from it as well. Disappearing Acts some clips

Dead Prez "Hip Hop" is a classic that many have overlooked. But the true soldiers who have been paying attention know exactly what I getting across here. It is important that we take into account this piece of history. Not only for Hip Hop to continued growth, but for the minds of those who listen to it Black and White, and every other color in the center of the contrast.
AS THE GAME GOES :
Let me tell you a little story. The other day I am driving down Mill Ave, out here in Tempe Arizona. The top is down because it was the first cool day of the fall and our summers are hot, but the other three seasons are the best the country has to offer. Anyway, As I pass the pool hall Mill Q I realize that these two college kids were listening to some trash hop, you know that new garbage, they try to pass of as hip hop, with lame lyrical content. Now it is ok to have veriety but this shit, was not making the cut. It took no talent whatsoever. Yes it was catchy but the artist was some new comer to the game that is copying the formula but forgot to add the talent. That is the problem, they are copying instead of creating. They are doing it for the cash instead of for the love of it. They are not pushing themselve, they are just working hard at being lazy.
Listen to the vets we need the contrast of all sides.
And
And
I had to bring these videos back to the forefront.BET although I loathe them at times this was important and well executed. Although it was an execution of HIP HOP in its entirety. Which caused those with a mind to think even less of the entire genre.
I AM TIRED OF THE SAME OLD SCENARIO MOTHER FUCKERS! STOP BUYING TRASH LIKE THIS SO THAT THE TRUE WRITERS ARE GETTING THERE DUE.
JOHN ROCKINS UNIVERSITY has been brought into existence do to a silent demand for representation. A representation in the media of Ethnic American Films, music, books, and plays. Although this blog is not singular in a focus solely on Ethnic American art, it allows the reader to see that it fits into a full spectrum of works, across the entire industry.
With the exposure JRU's hopes to be a piece of a large pie. An integral part that can be shared at all tables involved and with all who take an interest in the art of our modern day as well as past, and leaping towards a greater future.
No longer should Americans or the America we love, have a split down the center. If in art that continues it will forever bring out the underlying mistrust, and misunderstanding that we face in reality.
I hope to bring all races together with this blog and to bring about a change within our work in the media as well as the art forms of entertainment that we love.
