Carrie Underwood & Keith Urban :::: Cover Umbrella

Some would sit back and ask the infamous question. Does Keith and Carrie Sound better on this song than Rihanna. Many would be pissed and think that is was a total disrespect to cover her song while it is still of some relevance and her current vehicle. It was bad enough her now boyfriend one time collaborator on this song smashed her vocals with his( Chris Brown). The remix was insane and Chris Brown showed a range that will keep this guy around forever.

This song was written by the dream, but now that Rihanna has more star power I think she will demand that she write some of her own songs soon, and we will see a star shine before us.

By the way: I predict it here, Chris Brown and Rihanna will be married one of these days or so tight that we will see and hear her expand on her vocal skills. I know she can sing but she has to take it serious enough not to allow what happened to Britney to happen to her. Bottom Line! She needs more range and solid range from vocals to writing her own songs, and I know that is coming, she is from the islands. Barbados to be exact!

Carrie Underwood - Umbrella

Rihanna Version Featuring Chris Brown Remix Version :

Music Video :::: Akon FT. T-Pain - " I cant Wait"

Akon is keeping Konvicted alive with dropping yet another single, and by all means, this song is single worthy. I think this is a good video treatment and shows off the other talents of T-pain.

Is Bill Clinton subliminally endorsing Barack O'Bama?

It seem that Even Bill Clinton does not believe in what his wife is talking about and he has subliminally endorsed his wifes main opponent Barack Obama. This is something that you have to be the judge on.

Let me know what you think after watching this video.

New Video ::: Gnarls Barkley Run :: Does it cause Seizures?

It is rumored that Gnarls Barkley's new single run has a video that is causing seizures. As reported by Billboard. This is a new one to me, but apparently researching think that the lighting effects in the film will cause a bout of epileptic seizures. The video has a strobe light effect that does not pass "the Harding Test". Now you may wonder what this test may be! It is a set of rules in TV production that prevent images from igniting epileptic seizures.

It seems that their is something that should be done to film before we watch it and as far as this report goes, this video has not. I guess Sean Paul's Reggae song did not pass a sound test that seem to have the same affect on the listener.

Caution ::::: Ok here is the video but If you have epilepsy please do not watch the video, I am not responsible for your safety. This is for pure reporting purposes proceed at your own risk.

Artist to Reconsider :::: Everlast

Everlast - A popular artist who emerged out of the group House of Pain. I know many can remember Jump around. That song that the DJ puts on in the club every weekend to get us riled up to have a good time. This is the father of that group. Everlast Branched out on his own in the late 90's to put together Whitey Ford Sings the Blues. The album bounced around the scene for some time and received great reviews from the underground music scene as well as the mainstream.

The year was 1999 and What its like fell onto my lap, I looked over to my roommate and asked him what is this, and he stated to put it in and vibe to it. So I Followed his instruction, placed the disc into my CD player, and what came out in my opinion was an instant classic. A classic that has gone unnoticed for too long. When I say unnoticed, it is to say that Everlast has gone down as a one hit wonder and this is not the case. When someone can put together a solid album such as Whitey ford, one hit is so far from the truth. The record companies are to blame, they made too many attempts to box him into a category and from that, resulted in the loss of a dedicated fan base. However his fan base is built on rebellion, those who know you do not need a category to exist, those who took the correct pill, and are always willing to see how far the rabbit hole goes( one for cliche). Remember this album was
both a commercial and critical success (selling more than 3 million copies). However the world needed to classify his music and the artist. They did not appreciate that he is as multi talented as he is. He can deliver both Rap Lyrics and Bass Guitar strumming for your listening pleasure.

He is the best of both worlds, with out the second artist to ride along. Now who can deny that? He is the complete musical a package, heck I think he would sing you a love song if you gave him an opportunity to do it his way.

So for this posting Everlast is my Artist to Reconsider, and begin the petition to keep good music alive.

What its like

Endz

Many would remember the misunderstanding between him and Eminem or not. Either way ti went something like this.

Wiki post:

In 2000, a feud erupted between Everlast and Eminem. Eminem felt insulted by "I'll buck a 380 on ones who act Shady" from Everlast's verse from the Dilated Peoples all star track "Ear Drums Pop (Remix)". Eminem then in turn dissed Everlast several times in public and on the song "I Remember (Dedication To Whitey Ford)", mocking Everlast's rap/rock style, released as a b-side to the D12 12" vinyl single "Shit On You". Everlast then recorded the track "Whitey's Revenge" and released it on his official website. The track contained the lyric "Better run and check your kid for your DNA," referring to Eminem's daughter, Hailie. Eminem responded with the help of his group D12 on the track "Quitter", in which he took shots at Everlast and threatened to kill him if he ever mentioned Hailie's name again. Everlast later stated in various interviews that he felt everything had been said and he would now refrain from further responses.

Now their is a new stage in Everlast's life; a new group by the name of La Coka Nostra, hardcore no filler. They feel that the industry is missing good Rap music. That is something that you know I am in agreement with, and I can endorse La Coka Nostra as I would Wutang, it is time for real music with substance to make its return, and not this "Contrived" stuff we hear every day.

La Coka Nostra Which is a combination of House of Pain and some new members. Embracing the new members they has expanded and rearranged some things but HOP is still in there with new blood.

Here is the La Coka Nostra Version of Jump Around

LA Coka Nostra Myspace page

I will have more on this group and the featured artist as they have available. I look forward in continuing to bring you great artist and their mission to bring good art no matter their outlet.

Trailer ::: "Street Kings"

Street Kings look to be the return of Keanu Reeves on the action scene. One I have been awaiting since the last Matrix. It is good to see that he is combing solid acting with action on this one. I am in hopes that for Keanu the two Mesh well.

Here is a trailer that should wet your palette until more on this film is revealed.

Lindsay Lohan to fuse Rihanna and Kylie Minogue for her new sound

Lindsay Lohan, My new ex wife is planning on fusing her new sound. She is going to attempt to bring together the two worlds of pop music. She is stated in an interview saying "I want it to be dance," she tells PEOPLE. "I want it to be kind of
Kylie Minogue-meets-Rihanna. I hope to tour with it and I hope to
really promote it."

The inspiration she is seeking sounds to me as she has not one original idea and will have a tough time coming up with a sound that signals she is innovative and a great force to reckon with. However it remains to be seen, many artist has already attempted to fuse two different sounds. However I must say this upfront, I do not think Kylie Minogue, sound that much different from Rhianna and vice versa

Then if we look at this a little further we may realize that she is doing everything she can to escape her current world.

Readers if you had the opportunity to put out an album with your thoughts and creativity, would you do it? I personally think that this generations stable of artist take music like another role in a movie, and no longer make attempts to give us the art form as it should be given, and that is from the soul. With her life as it is and was, she has an opportunity to put together a real solid album with music that can reach a lost generation. She has that power in her hand at this point to make the move that will spark the change and/or the mind(s) that will take humanity to the next level.

What do you think, is she being lazy or too afraid to take on her own life? She was asked by people if any of her tracks will feature her life story and her response was "I'm not sure yet – I don't know if I really want to." Can you blame her for this? Or do you think she does not know how to deal with it, and if that is the case, don't you think that she needs some down time to get her mind in order? according to her, she feels other wise, in a statement she said: "I think the past is the past and it should be kept there," Lohan
added. "It's a new slate for me, and I want to show that in my new
record."

People tell me if you had the power to give Lindsay Lohan refuge from all of her pain and turmoil would you? I feel she has grown up in the spotlight and never had the opportunity to be a child. America it eating its young stars, heck look what it does to the ones who are not in the limelight. Just a thought.

Movie to reconsider ::: Mississippi Masala

Mississippi Masala (1992) directed by Mira Nair , with Denzel Washington and Sarita Choudhoury, is one of those rear films; that invite you to take a look at the world we live in. Giving you the opportunity to see how much ideas play a role in the adult minds in society spectrum. This is a movie that is both heart felt and brutally honest.

With so much racial tension that takes place in the south and within the country as a whole, towards those, who are considered less than that of a citizen and those who come to this country to seek exile from such persecution you would think they identify. On the contrary! Strange enough, two different cultures which will peg themselves as two different races, have more in common than less, but somehow find ways to separate themselves from one another. Which is done on the base of misconceptions and lies, put in place to propagate further separation, which only breeds more hate, and dis honesty in their society and in the world as a whole.

It is the underlying hate and dissatisfaction with an oppression that has taken place outside of our generation. And oppression that has seeped into the pores of the masses, and has taken hold of them like a parasite, reemerging well calculated and well fed to reek havoc upon the globe. It is a bad spirit that humanity is slowly begging to confront for as far as I can see it. The global climate is tainted by lies and needs to change.

This film is a lesson to all who see it. No matter your racial classification you should be able to sit back and see this film for what it is, and also see it a metaphor a public service announcement. This film yell out loud, that racism is a man made tool only built on lies, and fear. That idea I think is one that has burned the planet for to many centuries, and needs to have a serious halt in order to see progress for humanity as it is and for what it is, and that is one global community that takes it's likeness from is geographic region.

I do not want to get to preachy and wish for you to enjoy this film, but there is more to this film. This piece of work can be used as a stepping stone to the catalyst humanity needs in order to branch out into a future that can break the false laws that have been put into our social stratosphere. Now I am not saying that this is some sort of end all, and we can become one, but the world will receive more light from the sun if we began the journey of repairing and repaving the roads that we have traveled to get here.

Here take a look at the trailer for the film : Watch

From IMDB :

An Indian family is expelled from Uganda when Idi Amin takes power. They move to Mississippi and time passes. The Indian daughter falls in love with a black man, and the respective families have to come to terms with it. During the British rule in India, many Indians, men and women, were sent to Uganda, Africa, to assist in the making of a railroad. When the railroad was complete, most of the Indians decided to make Uganda their home. Soon they became rich, owned properties and enjoyed a far better standard of living than their Native counterparts. Parents of Indian girls even refused to get them marry Native Africans, and using this as a pretext, General Idi Amin, in November of 1972 made it mandatory for all Asians to leave Uganda, as he wanted Africa to be a "black Africa". One of the displaced family was of Jay, Kinnu and their young daughter, Meena. From Kampala to Greenwood, Mississippi, U.S.A., this family attempted to establish themselves with their relatives, Anil, Jammubhai, Kusum, Chanda, Kanti, and Pontiac. From 1972 to 1990, the three ran a liquor shop, while Meena cleaned Motel rooms and bathrooms. Since Meena has a dark complexion, was often mistaken for a Mexican, Kinnu is unable to find a suitable groom for her. Jay still keeps the hope that one day he will regain his estate in Kampala and return to live there for the rest of his life, and continues to nurse a grudge against the black Africans who had displaced him and taken over his property. Now to make matters worse, Jay gets a rude shock when Anil tells him that Meena is having an affair with a "Kaalu" (Black man) named Demetrius Williams, who runs a business cleaning carpets in Motel rooms. Watch how tensions rise, when salt is rubbed on old wounds, and racism, called "tradition" by some folks in the U.S., raises it's ugly head, perhaps to claim more victims - this time Meena and Demetrius - who may not be able to handle the chain of events started by their love for each other.

Does the Homeless in New York City have a sense of appreciated value?

Apparently those in New York City have a sense of worth. They have a calculated interest in archiving valuable objects, through the collecting of signatures. Whatever else could we imagine is apart of their enterprising nature. This is a capitalist society, and many know how and will exploit the opportunities that arise.

When one such as out good man in New York City, who has turned down a 5 dollar bill, for a signed dollar. It was obvious that he had more in mind, than a meal or a bottle of booze. Perhaps multiple meals, booze, etc.. However that may seem, the world is filled with savvy individuals, that will stop at nothing to make their mark on society, one way or another.

As reported by People, this Homeless guy refused the up in what he originally asked for, and charged that they New York, Signed the dollar bill in stead of receiving the 5 dollar bill from her beau.

When the I Love New York star and her fiancé, George “Tailor Made” Weisgerber,
were leaving City Crab on Park Avenue Tuesday night, a man standing
outside the popular Manhattan eatery asked them for a dollar, says a
source. “The guy started cracking jokes and made New York and Tailor
Made laugh, so Tailor Made gave him $5.”
But the man refused the $5, saying he only wanted a dollar from
them. “Why would you want a dollar rather than $5?” Weisgerber asked
him.
The man’s reply? “If New York signs it for me, it will be worth much more than a dollar.”
New York laughed, signed a dollar bill and gave it to the man. “This could only happen to New York,” says the source. – K.C. Baker

Mariah Carey :: Touch My body Video

Mariah Carey has officially let me down.

This song sucks! Mariah has taken her career to new heights with this one. It is as if she is singing for the younger boys and girls of the world who are already as misguided as Vice president Dick Chaney Hunting Rifle.

This is live and we have to live it, but please use discretion in what you do in life, and maybe you will be able to reach new levels instead of hanging around on the ground floor.

Movie to Consider :::: Iron Man Trailer

Now this is looking better each day. To see that Jim Rhodes is being played by one of Hollywood's brightest is even better. Terrence Howard is becoming one of those actors that will be hard to place in a bubble. If he gets the opportunity to expand on the Jim Rhodes Character via War Machine, we may be in a treat for this live action installment of Iron Man.

If you are a true fan of the Comic, you know what I am speaking of, when it comes to expanding on War Machine, it also means that Tony Starks will be expanded upon, and that means more money in the bank for the producers if they can pull it together and offer up a great screen play. They has made changes to adapt closer to reality and Changed Sgt. Fury ethnicity is one of them, but I guess they see the correlation in Samuel L. Jacksons Approach to acting and is willing to gamble on it.

Bump Forward ::: The return of Black Face or is it?

Robert Downey in Black face is it risky or is it genius? Will it hurt his ticket sales for Iron Man once word gets out? I don't think so if you compare it to the movies of the past and present and then evaluate it for yourself. However I must admit that he is walking a thin red line, with this tour of duty, and he may end up in a full metal jacket, if you know what I mean.

Go to IMDB for more information.

"Downey plays one of a team of self-indulgent stars cast in the modern equivalent of Apocalypse Now. Stiller plays an action hero who has just adopted a baby from Asia but worries that ”all the good ones are gone.” Black portrays a comedian known for performing multiple roles in a single film — his latest is called The Fatties: Fart 2. But when the film’s director (Steve Coogan) and writer (Nick Nolte) get fed up with their prima donna cast, they drop them into the jungle to fend for themselves. The actors think they’re doing some sort of full-immersion filmmaking, but the danger they’re in is very real."

Things looking good for Patrick Swayze

Patrick's Publicist released a story today :

“Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick’s physician Dr. George Fisher states, ‘Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.’ Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

Get well Patrick, prayers with you!

Unrelated thought, that is relative to tabloid behavior:

I just need to say this, I know that blowing the story out of proportion sells papers or bring people to you site, but think about the damage that is caused by your overzealous nature. These are human beings and many need to stop creating BS stories to get readership, authenticity last a lifetime, but then again made up history will be taught in the schools around the world, so then again you may be doing a good job at setting the foundation for our future offspring, and their education. The world destruction depends on lies and mishandled facts, keep up the good work, the end depends on it.

The politics behind Entertainment needs to be cleaned up ( welcome to my hypocrite moment)

Priceless :: Kim Kardasian knows how to turn heads..

This one needs no explanation or description. The guys behind her say it all and words will simply take away from what your imagination can come up with, which will take very little of. So for those of you that lack imagination, this one is priceless and it is for you.

Dress several hundred or more
Ice cream cone few bucks

The guys watching her walk away while eating this ice cream = Priceless

NOW take a side gander at what has these guys and their panties in a bunch.

No words needed ::: American Idol

I think this is a confirmation on how much of a metrosexual our super host of American Idol is. Now do not let me play down on what the world may think about Ryan Seacrest and the team he plays for.

Damn this is too funny.

Artist to Reconsider ::: Ayo

Photobucket

Not much about this artist is placed into the limelight. So I feel the need to put it back out there until someone walks up to me in Coffee shop or the bookstore and say to me, they appreciate good music from real musicians. I will reply, Ayo is a good place to start, a legend in the making, the beginning of something real, she is reminiscent of Lauren Hill and Bob Marley, with a little bit of global spice to complete.
Photobucket
Danielle Phillips on IGN repoted :

blended together on her first hit single, "Down on My Knees," which

Vanity Fair this April will sting the love out of your eyes and spawn the new hate for women in Hollywood that need more support than ridicule. However It seems to be big business to burn the women who are hurting the most. Then again it is no different than Saturday night live parody sketches.

Good idea bad timing or good timing depends from what angle you are looking at this. Now you can look forward to more car crashes, drunken binges, and useless shopping sprees from the targets of this piece. Authentic Rants :::: Mis-concept-ions of an Art-form

Photobucket
Driving down the road the other night I decided to put on the radio and listen to my favorite variety station that will go unnamed. A Rap song was blaring from the radio just before the announcer cut it off to give us his take on the song. Stating "This music is trash and never will be anything worthwhile to ever come from it." I could not help but to be alarmed that a radio Jock had the balls to say what he really felt about a song. He went on to say that "it should have ended a long time ago, that Rappers such as Soulja boy are not artist and pretend to be a part of the art/music community", and "get away with it by dubbing themselves as entertainers." He said this because he was uneducated about Rap/Hip-Hop as a whole. Someone needed to school him, I am writing this in hopes that I can reach him and people like him.

I cant help it but to agree with his sentiment, but I have done some research on the subject of whether or not, the style of rap that is performed by Soulja Boy is an accurate representation of Hip Hop, and truth be told, it is. A time existed when simple lyrics and a catchy beat was all it took to arouse the ears of the listeners. From the old school to the new school, there were simple songs that got you on the dance floor to show of your latest break dance and pop and lock.
Photobucket
Hip-Hip does not have one hat, and will never where one hat. To the knitted beanie on Common to the baseball topping off a hot outfit on 50Cent. You may at time catch NAS wearing either of the two styles, depending on his state of mind. The epitome of a Rapper is more than sneakers, chains, watches, and cars. It is the ability to make sound out of words, and some rappers are in this case study a little less likely to hone in on the skill of many words, and manipulate a few words to their advantage, and often make up their own to fit the mission they see ahead of them. The mission to make a number one chart topping hit song.

As Much as I hate simple rappers, that have not fluidity in their vocabulary, the genre of lyric-less Rap is nothing new, and will be back in 8 year, 15 tops, when the new era of lyrical rappers take over. Thank you Wu-Tang for coming back with your eight Diagrams, Thank you to Talib Kweli for keeping the pen hot, Thank you Jay-Z for coming out with American Gangster, Thank You Nas for Hip-Hop is Dead and you upcoming Nigg*r Album, Thank you Eminem for all your efforts. However long the simple rap generation, of Hip-hop/Rap hold the throne, they will keep the balance that is needed.

What bothers me most about this, is that it seems the world is dumb, that it wants nothing more than just entertainment. They no longer want great artist to grace the stage. We were lucky that an artist such as Kanye West could come along and knock 50cent off his throne of nonsense. I am not knocking the business man/Actor Curtis Jackson, but the lyrics are trash. With all of his wealth you would think that he would give you an album with Songs that are deep as many men through out an LP. With a few song like in the club, Ayo Technology, and In Da club. I love my party songs, but at some point you want substance on entire effort. A single get you the momentum, gives you a chance to get notices, and then your album solidifies are artistry in my opinion.

No Thank you to Soulja Boy, 50cent latest efforts, and all the Gangsta Rap wannabes and their Craptastic albums and mix tapes. Whenever I hear dumb-dumber say super man that oooh I cringe, then I change the dial until I think it is off the air.

I only protest simple rap to say that the people cant make the decision, if they did, they would have done it a long time ago. It is up to the music industry and the artist combined to start working on quality music. The people that love simple rap are too young to make a choice, our kids are falling off the edge, and that is too close for comfort to the bottom of a never endless abyss.
Photobucket
Parents are not doing a good job of censoring their children, and as much as they try their is always another kid in the school yard who has the latest unrealistic RAP album or Single. They are going to be plugged in one way or another. For some; if they have a complete balance of music to pick from or listen to, they will be able to decide one way or the other, at least have an eclectic mix of Hip-Hop/Rap music to pick from. If not to make a choice having a wide range of styles and lyrical content that will prepare them for what is ahead. The world requires language and Hip-Hop moves too fast at making new words, so having a complete diet of Rap styles work. For example, Mos-Def Main course, Talib Veggies, Jay-Z your grains, and Nas your beverage. Soulja boy for dessert which means too much and you will be unhealthy).

I want to end this by saying that there is more to Hip-Hop/Rap, than any one rapper or Trend in the music. It is an eclectic art form. At times it is innocent, and at times it is in your face and ready to attack. Overall it is a full course meal that many can not define to one category so they file it under miscellaneous and come back another day to define. That day of Definition has come many times, and it has been named Gangster(Gangsta) Rap, misogynist rap, as of late all of them and Idiot or Simple Rap to top it off and throw Rappers that speak peace or teach from history Backpack rappers, which in my definition means they have books to reference and are re-writing the book on what hip hop is. I would like to think of it that way. In closing Hip Hop is misunderstood, and at times it misrepresented, It need to be none by all of its abilities and the people will decide. That Goes for any music, for instance Michael Jackson is the King of Pop, but remember that Thriller has crossed more than the pop charts, and good music does that and last as long as Thriller has in the minds of many and can cross generations with out fail.

In the end some will say that
Hip-Hop can be many things to many different people and "I believe Hip-Hop is a way of life expressing elements of urban community" and Hip-Hop is an urban musical tree that has spawned branches from grafiti to gangsta rap and is still growing"

Here is Andre 3000 Actor and Second Half of OutKast had to say about his upcoming movie, where you will get a short quip about his take on the current status on Hip Hop. Here he is being asked has Hip-Hop Loss its Essence:

A parody that speaks volumes

Lil Romeo - That Baby aint mines....

The Prince of Hip Hop stated to sources that the Unborn Child of Jamie Lynne Spears is not his. The 18 year old rap star said the two of them have never been romantically involved. Various sources and Bloggers of the Free Pressarazzi seem to think that he has at least had an encounter. That is something that time will decided and/or revealed in time. That time is getting closer every month. In the meantime you readers have plenty to discuss in and around the Student union, and at the water cooler when you are looking for a break from the norm.

Lil' Romeo is quoted saying; “The child is definitely not mine! No way! She and Casey are getting married and that’s the end of it.” He has admitted to be a close friend of the star, but that is as far as it goes.

Your Afternoon Who cares Post, I hope you have enjoyed.
