Movie not to consider ::: D War - Dragon Wars

What is it with straight to video movies? Why is it that some of them are a cheap attempt at getting material into the market? With all of the great actors and screen writers awaiting the green light to do something of value you would think that you would get better quality films in the straight to DVD market.

Sitting home Saturday night I decided to go to the Redbox and Blockbuster and rent every movie that I felt needed a second chance. Once I arrived there was a slight change in plans. Thinking I was too critical the first time which caused me not to see the film Dragon Wars. I allowed the allure of cheap special effects, and mystic legend to grab my attention and I ended up with the film. A movie that at first makes you want to watch it, but as it progress you realize this movie is the remedy for insomniacs such as my self.

Forcing my mind to stay awake by switching my position on the sofa about 50 or more times, I stopped counting at some point into the film. Trying my best; to stay awake, so I could finish watching it and share with you guys. Two days went by and I was still trying to get to the end of the film, I could not get through it without, the yawn, and boredom kicking in. So I decided to see how it ended by skipping to the last 10 minutes of the movie, and I must tell you that it was a wasteful CGI attempt at an otherwise interesting concept. The CGI was not horrible, but you can tell that the acting was mediocre, and the plot had no substance to hold it together.

So For this movie, I give it a swift kick in the ass, and a what the F were the money guys thinking. I do not consider it as a film that should take up any more space on the shelves and they should hand out free copies at the pharmacy as a sleep aid remedy.

All too often you see this in film that head straight to the store and not only DVD only movies are guilty of this, rude art crime. You get films like this on the big screen as well ,that have some huge Superstar actor playing the role of the hero-victim that ends up falling short. It is, as if, Hollywood is relying far too much on CGI and not on what people go to the movies for. That full display of artistry called acting with passion and direction with vision, accompanied by producing with purpose.
However I do know that; these films are profitable or they would not otherwise exist. Hollywood has turned its head on good movies in high numbers because then what would the idiots at the academy do if they has more than 6 films to choose from for best film, or actor, from all the films that in any given year to contend for the best category nomination. Their heads would burst. So Hollywood as a business will pump out garbage as long as we allow them to. As long as our intelligence is disrespected by this lack of artistic integrity for the all mighty dollar we will be yearning for better films for years to come.

By the way, why is it that the majority of films that win Oscars; are sick, twisted, depressing in order to be up for an Oscar nomination? Some one answers that for me please.

Just so you know this film stars Jason Behr who does not seem to be a horrible actor, but needs much work and a better agent. It also has other actors that you may want to consider but the overall project sucks. Bottom line.
Here check these videos below and let me know what you think about it.
