Movie to reconsider ::: Jason's Lyric

Not too many movies found way to the silver screen in the 90's that were influenced by the African American life, that contained a full bodied story line. One such movie made its way to the screen, and minus it flaws made for a good viewing of a film that is worth owning for multiple views. That movie goes by the name of Jasons Lyric. A poignant story of triumph of tragedy or in the case tragedies, one after the other. Admits all of its darkness love was flourishing and growing into something that is worth the long haul.

This film teach the weak hearted and the strong alike that there is a way around the tough obstacles if it is sort after. If the soul within is far more driven that the mind that doubts and in the pit of pain you can find beauty.

Not to many movies allow you this offering that is tailored from the cloth of the African American Community and the stories that it posses. Jason's Lyric served it up raw and beautiful. Doug McHenry offered up a feat of the willful, as well as a sexually menacing entree of goods from start to finish. Making 1994 a good year for the African American film maker. Which I think opened the door to full bodied films such as the one we have been seeing as of late.

I recomend this film to everyone and for everyone. It goes beyond the Black Experience, trancending race and bring together what all films should and that is a piece of humanity that we all share. That piece goes by the title of living and loving it.

The films stars Jada Pinkett-Smith, Allen Payne, Eddie Griffin, Anthony 'Treach' Criss, Lisa Nicole Carson, and Oscar Winner Forest Whitaker. I am sure you will be pleased to take a look at this film.

Here are so clips of the film to get you started ::

Movie to reconsider ::::: Luke & owen Wilson -The Wendell Baker Story

I have had the recent pleasure of indulging in a warm harted, often quirky film, by the name of,
" The Wendell Baker Story", starring Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson, Eva Mendes, and Eddie Griffin.

The film starts off a little slow, with familiar norms, but over the legnth of the film, it supplys the heart with a visual approach to redemption, and it is a great movie to watch with your Valentine. If you are up for a film with a warm heart, and a screw up to bring you to your senses.

The film has a warm soundtrack that will bring back Nostalgia to the hardest of hearts. The Texas backdrop is a character on its own, bringing to life the music and the film, as one complete audio visual gumbo.

I recommend this movie as part of your valentine weekend treat to the one you love. So pick up the finest bottle of Merlot - Cabernet, a box of Godiva, stop by Victoria secret after leaving the jeweler, and you should be all set. Plan in advance the things that matter and wing nothing, but the kisses and the hugs.

Ladies, buy that watch you know we love, yes we will accept a box of chocolate, but prefer you get them bagged and placed in the golden pouch and allow us to eat them, when we are, well enjoying your (Va-JAY-JAY..{Cosmo is Funny}) company.

IMDB plot Summary :
"Near the Texas-Mexico border, Wendell Baker has a few things going for him: his genial nature and optimism and the love of Doreen. His troubles? He dances around telling her that he loves her, and his idea of work is illegal. He's arrested, imprisoned, and she puts him behind her when she realizes that even prison is just a good excuse for him to play football with the guys. When he is paroled, it's to a job in the "hotel industry" at a board and care home for seniors, where the head nurse is running a scam. Three of the residents respond to Wendell's good heart. Can they expose the scam and help Wendell win back Doreen?"
