Movie to reconsider ::: She's Gotta Have It

It was about ten years ago that I decided to explore more of the films that Spike Lee had to offer. During that time I came across 'She's Gotta Have It'. A raw uncut look at the side of a female's ability to control her own life and how she runs her personal affairs. Nola Darling is this women and the window into a world that existed but may have been frowned upon.

Growing up in a home where the women were domesticated I was shocked and amazed all in the same instant. Thinking to myself I wondered how can this be. As I watched the films I was drawn deeper into the lead characters sex appeal and the poetic essence of her existence. After that I did not know what to do. I wanted a women that came after what she wanted, or had the ability to draw me in so far that I did not know how to remove myself.

Spike Lee offered this in 'She's Gotta Have IT'. A classic and a film that created a generation of fans and started the care of said director. I recommend this film to generations to come. I think that it should be shows in all films schools and is a stable in the American film industry as well as abroad.

So here are some clips if you can not take my word for it.
