Jamie Foxx is a soloist in many ways

It is now noted that Jamie Foxx needed to see a Mental doc, to get his marbals back in order. The role for him was very draining and causing the fragility of his mind to sucumb to malfunction.

Here's a brief report on the matter:

JAMIE FOXX almost walked away from his new movie about a schizophrenic musician, because the role was so gruelling it left him needing therapy.

The Oscar winner struggled to make the transition from his real personality to that of homeless cello prodigy Nathanial Ayers in The Soloist - and he admits the role pushed him to his limit.

Foxx says, “It was something that I enjoyed, but it shredded me. I went to places that I never thought I would ever go. I just remember being in mybathroom broke (sic) down, talking to my manager like, ‘I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish this.’

“You had to lose your mind every day you’re on set, and sometimes you didn’t have enough time to get your mind back before the weekend.”
Foxx’s manager was so concerned, he even sent the star to a psychiatrist.

The actor adds, “(He told me), ‘Just so you’ll have a way to get out of your head.’”

And Foxx now regularly uses a therapist during movie projects, explaining, “I had no idea that the mind could be that fragile.”

I guess when you are into your job the affect is that it takes you with it.

POETRY CORNER :::: Def Poetry - Julian Curry - Niggers, Niggas & Niggaz

Every once in a while a poet comes along that has the ability to educate you. In the midst of our applause a light sparks on and our hearts change, for but a moment
we are enlightened. Wether we maintain that truth or bring about some aspect of change in our lives, that is subject to the scrutiny of time.

Julian Curry has allowed us into a mind consolidated on an era that has us deadlocked. Pay attention you may learn something. This is my sunday preach.

Q-tip 'Manwomanboogie'

Q-tip never fails to drop something that is classic. His ability to remain true to himself has become the expectation. However much so that he does, he is able to push the envelope with his lyrics and being to you a buffet of thoughts every time.

Manwomanboogie should and I predict will go down in history as one that holds true. It is almost Shakespeare on beats.

True Artist underrepresented ::: Joe Budden 'In my sleep'

Joe Budden is a rare artist in the rap genre. Without true representation, he has been able to compile his work into diverse approaches. Within his art he has been able to offer
a mixed bowl of lyrical content that is unrivaled by many of his peers. With this video he has further proven that he is a forced to be reckoned with and that
the industry does not know true artist when they see them.

This is not catchy it is real. I believe this is what the problem is. Our short term memory is so short that we need Sesame street lyrics and hooks in order to be
entertained. I guess since the majority of us are raised on such ways of learning why would out lives be any different? Joe Budden just keep cranking out
the truth, when the Hall of Fame has to announce years from now, the artist with solid work, your name should come up, minus your first album effort you will
go down in history. Keep it true and eventually the community around you will demand more.

A walk back to film making -When movies were made :::Do the right thing, Five Heartbeats, New Jack City

Looking at movies being made today and movies that were made in the 90's there is a huge difference in the presentation. Not to knock all films being made, but the problem is clear that Hollywood, black Hollywood has not been allowed to product the films that matter. After '94 the films became redundant with a few gems in between. Do not get me wrong there were some classics that, were released but they were too far-too few, between each other.

Here are some scenes from movies that held it down from the late 80's to the early 90's. I dare you to argue.

The five heartbeats:

New Jack City (brief nudity)

Do the right thing:

The Trailer ( bonus)

This is but a short look into my series. A walk back to film making-When movies were made!

Ne-yo, Method Man, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding jr in Red Tails

The diversity behind this film is great. It will showcase a broad range of personallity, once on screen will pop.

What’s better than a historic film based on the Tuskegee Airmen…. the answer is a cast that rivals that of recent blockbusters including Dreamgirls, Stomp The Yard and the forthcoming flick ‘Fighting’.

Noted producer/talent George Lucas has put together a diverse cast for the anticipated World War II action/adventure ‘Red Tails’ that not only includes Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Ne-Yo but both Terrence Howard and Hip Hop veteran Method Man!

The trio, noted for their roles in other films including ‘Stomp The Yard’ and ‘Hustle & Flow’ will be joined by Cuba Gooding Jr., Bryan Cranston, Nate Parker, Elijah Kelly, Jesse Williams, Tristan Wilds (90210, The Wire), David Oyelowo and Lee Teregesen to name a few.

So just who exactly are the Tuskegee Airmen you may ask and why are these gentlemen on board for the film?

In the event that the Tuskegee Airmen were overlooked in your history textbook, as they often are breezed over, the group of young men from Tuskegee, Alabama became the first African American fighter pilots in the U.S. Military. In fact, their planes featured red painted tails — thus the title “Red Tails”.

According to Variety, “Red Tails” is slated to be shot in Europe this year and will likely hit theaters in mid-late 2010.

George Lucas, also known for “Star Wars,” recently conveyed excitement over the forthcoming picture:

“I’ve been wanting to do ‘Red Tails’ for 20 years, and we’ve finally got the means to showcase the skill of the Tuskegee pilots,” Lucas tells Variety. “We’re working on techniques which will give us the first true look at the aerial dogfighting of the era.”

Lucas will executive produce and finance “Red Tails” through Lucasfilm production company with Anthony Hemingway directing.

Grammy-nominated R&B singer Jazmine Sullivan is also slated to make her acting debut in the film centered around the young pilots’ struggle to overcome institutional racism in the early 1940

How to Kill Kings?

Kings...one of the best new shows television has offered in a long time is in its last eight breaths. How can something so well written, be given so little of a chance to survive? Putting the show on on a Sunday is the first mistake that the network made in bringing the kings to the masses. Everyone knows nothing last on Sunday but Church and picnics in summer.

Look at Star Trek, it was cancelled and not only is it a hit in reruns it has spawned followers of all ages, spin offs and adaptations that you can not count in one lifetime.

So How do you Kill Kings. Have the appear in court on Sunday and no one will listen or stand around to watch. Lucky for me I have nothing to do on Sunday but hate that Monday is on its way. So I am around to watch the show and enjoy every bit of it.

Personally I think that prime time should begin at 7pm and reruns start a bit earlier and we get rid of all these TV judges who do nothing by look like Jerry Springer in a robe. Seriously who wants to watch that stuff?

Save the Kings!! Save the Kings!!

Before I go I want you to read what I a fellow blogger had to say:

Well, exit the Kings. NBC has moved its lush, sweeping, and increasingly good dramatic experiment from its valuable Sunday night slot to Saturdays, where it will play out its remaining eight episodes, then die. Sad.

Though the show—about an alternate reality where a monarchy reigns in thinly-disguised New York—can be a tad too sweeping and bombastic at times, and some of its conceits play pretty clunkily (see: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern as palace guards), it's still intricate and intriguing. It's at turns sexy and violent, bitingly well-written and fascinatingly ambitious. It's full of magic and heavy-handed religiosity and some weird old dramatic ideal that you rarely see off the Shakespeare stage.

The production values alone are worth slobbering over. Getting a Terrence Malick look on a TV budget is not an easy thing to pull off, and the series' cinematographers (including Darren Genet) have so far pulled it off beautifully every week. Plus, you know, there are lots of pretty people on it—whether they're swaddled in proper military uniform or slinky ballgowns.

So if you haven't yet checked it out, I still strongly suggest you do. It might not be your cup of tea, but certainly give it a chance. Artistic derringdo—from the flowery, lyrical writing to the evocative, Gladiator-esque music to Ian McShane's gravelly, stylized towering performance—is so rarely recognized and fostered on network TV. You wonder, sadly, (or maybe hopefully!), how this show would fare on the pay cable stations. Maybe they'd give it more of a chance. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day. It took two whole seasons.

Ultimate Questions :::: King Magazine?

King Magazine. I can not lie I loved the magazine in its prime and way up until a year ago. It seemed that this magazine was doomed to fail at some point. Right? I mean I am going to miss buffie the body, Angel with the implanted glute's, and a host of other guest cover girls who till this day make me boil, except for superhead( I cant get past the amount of it she had given).

Since it is the illest men's magazine I want to send it off with one question. Why did this magazine lack so much? Where was the real editorial. At least Heff and the boys at maxim make an attempt to leave you with something more than a six inch boner. Lets be real I want the centerfold back but I hated paying $4.99 for something that sucked this bad. I must admit I waited for the pics to be posted online to get my fill of the centerfold, once I had it all figured out.
Would this magazine have made an impression outside of the black community, it its content were more universal? Would this magazine have lasted if it built on more than just the curves and car ads? Seriously, doesn't anyone think that the African American male, require a bit more edification than that, which King magazine offered?

So my question is what will we do upon the return of the Black gentleman's magazine? Maybe this time around it should be a Gentleman's magazine, emphasis on gentleman. Let think for a minute that may the community deserves a little food for thought.

Bankruptcy does not only come from poor money handling, when it comes to business. If this rag has real articles, did not repeat the women that it portrayed in the magazine, featured more than the rapper or R&B singer who appeared in other mags that month. Perhaps the substance would have been there. I am just speculating.

I don't want to say too much it is important that you think about this one.

So again I ask! What will the new and improved Black Gentleman's magazine look like? Will it be based on the new administrations leader? Will they take initiative to offer something other than the formula that has been offered to the black man for the past 15 years?

Here are 17 sections that should be included in the new gentleman magazine:

  1. Politics
  2. Art history
  3. How to dress on a budget
  4. How to buy the finest things for less
  5. What to eat
  6. Where to travel
  7. Short Stories
  8. Real Advice on how to make it in the new world
  9. Financial
  10. How to cook a meal
  11. Financial advice
  12. How to act when you see women
  13. How to treat them
  14. Include College educated centerfolds or one that is a bit more than a Butt( although I do not mind her having one.)
  15. Where to eat in your city
  16. Fitness tips
  17. Getting outdoors(fight a bear, we will see how tough you are)

As a parting gift before the final issue. I will like to leave your with a set of videos to show you how much they cared about the other sections of the magazine.

I have had my share of attempting to break into Hollywood. I have had small insignificnt roles for the past ten years. However the dude walking across the street in a significant scene is not relevant but to that scene appearing real and authentic. So what do you when you want the Spotlights and Bullshit?

I will have an answer to this soon enough. So stay tuned.

Who you are 101 :::: The return of Black......!

I do not want to come across as ignorant to the world in anyway. This is a moment of pride, not belittlement of another race or creed of people. I am one that loves humanity and all that it has to offer.

It is great to have the spotlight and it is positive for one, and on top of that is allows us to not only share in, but lead a movement. In all my time in this country I have seen nothing but ignorance by the lighter races. The following list promote that there is a movement of people, both, Dark and Light, alike that are about the changes that need to take place in this world. The list is evidence of the support and admiration that the world community has for us.

So is it a good time to be black? The list seems to show you can be anything that you want to be and have pride in doing it.

Our President is Black! The list is the beginning of a long list.

List found Bossip

1:The head of the Republican National Committee is Black. Michael Steele
2: The best known media mogul on earth is Black. Oprah Winfrey
3: The greatest golfer in the world is Black. Tiger Woods
4:The top female tennis players in the world are Black. Williams Sisters
5: The highest grossing actor worldwide is Black. Will Smith
6:The fastest racing driver in the world is Black. Lewis Hamilton
7:The brightest Astrophysicist under the sun is Black. Neil Degrasse Tyson
8:The Superbowl-winning Head Coach is Black. Mike Tomlin
9:The most successful brain surgeon in the world is Black. Dr. Benjamin Carson
10:The fastest human on the planet is Black. Usain Bolt
11:…. Michael Jackson must be kicking himself.

Just another 101 Course :::: Single Asians

On a Side note and I have always felt this way. This girl Rocks. Beyonce, Christina, Cassie and the rest will have much work to do after this.

Hip Hop 101 :::: Todays lesson - The world of Lil Wayne

I am in full support of the new movement, in which a rapper expands oneself to do other things and bring back to Hip Hop its element. Believe it or not, Lil Wayne Picking up the Guitar is Hip Hop.

My Definitive understanding of what Hip Hop is this. Applying all elements living and inanimate alike to create a sound and or/style that is consisting of the elements around you and given to you, to make new and/or expand on what is of current and past. That to me is Hip Hop.

Although Hip Hop has been defined and I think should be defined this way. So that people can stop asking the questions what it Hip Hop or is Hip Hop really art? Etc. Etc.! Is Lil Wayne really Plucking those strings? Do we think he has the potential to be the next great guitarist?

I think he does. But I know there are those skeptics out there I would like to know. Class is in session.

Watch the video then tell me what you think.
